After conducting user research and synthesizing those findings, I turned my focus to crafting a “How Might We…?” statement of transformational (rather than transactional) corporate social responsibility.
The “How Might We…” question needed to:
- Capture the complexity of authentic corporate social responsibility as “the responsibility corporations take for their broad and deep global impacts,”
- Embody the tension in the coexistence of authentic CSR with the fundamental corporate responsibility to meet profit goals,
- Allude to the challenge of implementing social-purpose initiatives beyond the corporate social generosity of volunteerism and philanthropy, and
- Capture my two current explorations in Baltimore and San Francisco.
Under the mentorship of Allison Fisher at Globe at MICA, I designed and printed posters to pose my final “How Might We…?” question to the public.
Project completed within the graduate program in Social Design at MICA.
