  • THE AURORA BRIDGE
    2015 . Pen+Ink
I explore the complex reality of the relationship between mental health and Seattle's Aurora Bridge. While the edifice itself is just infrastructure, it bears the larger responsibility of preventing the suicides inevitably drawn to it.

  • IF SPACE WERE TIME
    2015 . SketchUp / Illustrator
Inspired by Alan Lightman's "Einstein's Dreams" -- in which Einstein dreams every night of a different way time could be manifested -- I tinkered with the idea that a sewage treatment plant could include "bent" space for the visitor to understand the relative durations of the steps in water sanitation.

  • THE WORKSHOP : SOURCE RADII
    2008 . Autodesk Revit / Adobe Illustrator
The Lifecycle Building Challenge is a national design competition focused on sustainable materials, responsible sourcing, and building reuse. The Workshop, upheld a vision and mission which aligned closely with the ethos of the contest. For the competition entry, I designed an exploded axonometric illustration to emphasize the simplicity of our system. The judges could easily understand the architectural concepts when the building components were graphically mapped in relationship to each other. The Workshop won First Prize in the category for Professional Unbuilt Buildings.

  • THE WORKSHOP: PREFAB / DEFAB / REFAB
    2008 . Autodesk Revit / Adobe Illustrator
To accompany the previous Source Radii map, I also designed a map to illustrate the concepts of prefabrication, defabrication, and refabrication and their relationships to each other.
